Regeler for fiskekonkurransen
The fishing competition has several categories:
- Biggest Fish (Children’s Category and Adult Category)
- The Grytøy Fish – joint category with a prize for the participant who comes closest to a secret ideal weight
The Grytøy Fish is a competition where participants aim to submit a fish that comes closest to a predetermined – but secret – ideal weight. This year, the ideal weight is somewhere between 1.5 and 3 kilograms – the exact number will, of course, remain a secret until all catches have been submitted! The winner – the one who gets closest to the target weight – will receive a gift prize worth NOK 2,000.
Competition Rules
To ensure a fair starting point for everyone, the following rules apply:
- Only handheld fishing lines or fishing rods are allowed.
- Only one line per participant.
- The fish must be bled immediately after being caught.
- The fish must be at least 50 cm long to be eligible – a measuring stick will be provided at registration.
- The Grytøy Fish has an ideal weight between 1.5 and 3 kg.
- The children’s category applies to all participants under the age of 14.
- The adult category applies to anyone who turns 14 before the day of the event.
Example of Fish Size
A fish that measures exactly 50 cm usually weighs around 1.2 kg – slightly below the ideal weight for the Grytøy Fish. So to win, you’ll need to catch a fish that hits the mark – not too light, not too heavy!
Important to Know
- You can enter as many fish as you like in the Grytøy Fish competition, but you must pay a registration fee of NOK 50 per fish when signing up.
- All participants in the fishing competition must be back inside the harbor breakwater before 12:00 PM.
- The deadline to guess which fish will be the biggest at Juksastevnet is 11:45 AM.
Bring your fishing rod and join the fun – maybe you’ll be the one to walk away with glory, honor, and a prize!
